Motorhome & Campervan Habitation Testing

You wouldn’t let your motorhome go over a year with no MOT or service, the same should apply for a motorhome habitation test.  Although not a legal requirement, an annual habitation check is recommended to keep your ‘home away from home’ in the best possible condition. After all, your motorhome is an investment which you want to last for as long as possible.

A habitation test checks over all the habitable areas of the vehicle, such as the living space, bedrooms and bathrooms. During the test, we will thoroughly check items in your motorhome, such as the boiler, gas and electrical checks, water systems, heating and damp inspections. This test can take up to three hours, depending on the size of your motorhome.

If you go without using your motorhome for a long period of time, it should still be brought in for an annual habitation test. Motorhomes left sitting unused for a long period of time are more prone to problems than those which get regular use.
